Stride Rent a Car, operated by Sistemas R&P LLC (“Stride,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, make a reservation, rent or operate one of our vehicles, communicate with us, or use our services.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website, reservation platform, rental locations, customer service channels, payment systems, vehicles, toll-processing systems, and related service providers.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information.
A. Personal and Contact Information
- First and last name;
- Date of birth;
- Residential, local, and billing address;
- Email address;
- Telephone number;
- Emergency contact information;
- Signature; and
- Language and communication preferences.
Stride provides vehicle rental services and does not ship physical merchandise. Customers select the applicable vehicle pickup and return locations during the reservation process.
B. Driver and Identification Information
We may collect:
- Driver’s license number;
- Driver’s license issuing jurisdiction and expiration date;
- Copies or images of a driver’s license;
- Passport or other government-issued identification;
- International Driving Permit information;
- Driver eligibility and age-verification information;
- Airline itinerary or return-travel information when required; and
- Information used to verify identity or prevent fraud.
C. Reservation and Rental Information
We may collect:
- Reservation number;
- Pickup and return locations;
- Pickup and return dates and times;
- Vehicle category and assigned vehicle;
- Rental Agreement information;
- Authorized driver information;
- Rental history;
- Optional products, protections, and services selected;
- Mileage, fuel or battery level, vehicle condition, and inspection records; and
- Customer service communications, requests, and complaints.
D. Payment and Transaction Information
We may collect:
- Cardholder name;
- Billing address;
- Payment-card type;
- Partial or tokenized payment-card information;
- Payment authorizations;
- Security deposits and authorization holds;
- Charges, refunds, and chargeback information;
- Amounts owed or paid; and
- Tolls, citations, damages, fuel, charging, cleaning, smoking, late-return, and other rental-related charges.
Complete payment-card information may be collected and processed directly by our authorized payment processors.
Stride may not receive or retain the complete payment-card number or card security code after processing, except as permitted by applicable law, payment-card requirements, and our payment-processing arrangements.
E. Insurance, Accident, and Claims Information
We may collect:
- Insurance company and policy information;
- Proof of insurance;
- Accident and incident reports;
- Police reports;
- Damage photographs and inspection records;
- Witness and third-party information; and
- Claims, repairs, towing, vehicle recovery, and collection information.
F. Vehicle, GPS, and Telematics Information
Vehicles may contain GPS devices, telematics systems, toll transponders, event data recorders, diagnostic systems, cameras, or similar technology.
Depending on the vehicle and the installed systems, information collected may include:
- Vehicle location;

- Speed, acceleration, braking, and driving events;
- Fuel or battery level;
- Vehicle condition and diagnostic information;
- Collision or accident information;
- Date and time of vehicle use;
- Toll-road activity;

- Investigate claims, damages, prohibited use, or violations of the Rental Agreement; and
- Protect Stride, its customers, vehicles, employees, service providers, and the public.
G. Website and Device Information
When you visit or use our website, we or our service providers may collect:
- Internet Protocol address;

- Pages visited;
- Date and time of access;
- Referring website;
- Reservation-session information;
- Cookies and similar technologies; and
- Website performance, security, and fraud-prevention information.
2. How We Collect Information
We may collect information:
- Directly from you;
- From an authorized driver or person making a reservation for you;
- From travel agencies, online travel agencies, brokers, affiliates, or booking platforms;
- From payment processors and financial institutions;
- From insurance companies, claims administrators, and roadside-assistance providers;
- From GPS, telematics, toll, maintenance, and fleet-management providers;
- From governmental agencies, law enforcement, courts, toll authorities, and citation-processing services;
- From fraud-prevention, identity-verification, and collection service providers; and
- Automatically through our website, cookies, and reservation systems.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Provide quotes and process reservations;
- Prepare, administer, modify, and enforce Rental Agreements;
- Verify identity, age, driver eligibility, insurance, and payment authorization;
- Assign, exchange, maintain, and recover vehicles;
- Process payments, security deposits, authorization holds, refunds, tolls, citations, damages, and other authorized charges;
- Prevent fraud, theft, unauthorized rentals, and prohibited vehicle use;
- Investigate accidents, claims, damages, chargebacks, disputes, or complaints;
- Provide roadside assistance and customer service;
- Communicate about reservations, rentals, payments, recalls, safety matters, tolls, claims, collections, and customer service;
- Maintain business, accounting, tax, insurance, and legal records;
- Improve our website, reservation systems, fleet, rental locations, and services;
- Protect the security, property, and legal rights of Stride, its customers, employees, service providers, and others; and
- Comply with applicable laws, court orders, subpoenas, regulatory requirements, and lawful government requests.
4. Communications
Stride may contact customers by telephone, email, text message, mail, or other reasonable methods regarding:
- Reservations or rentals;
- Pickup and return instructions;
- Payment authorizations and amounts due;
- Tolls, citations, accidents, damages, claims, or collections;
- Vehicle maintenance, recalls, emergencies, and safety matters; and
- Customer service requests.
Operational communications relating to an existing reservation or rental are not considered marketing communications.
Where required by applicable law, Stride will obtain the appropriate consent before sending promotional or marketing text messages or emails.
Customers may opt out of marketing communications using the instructions included in the applicable communication. Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent Stride from sending necessary transactional, safety, payment, or rental-related communications.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Payment processors, banks, and financial institutions;
- Reservation and rental-platform providers;
- Fleet-management, GPS, telematics, toll, maintenance, and roadside-assistance providers;
- Insurance companies and claims administrators;
- Vehicle owners, lessors, lenders, manufacturers, dealers, and repair facilities;
- Online travel agencies, travel agents, brokers, affiliates, and booking partners;
- Attorneys, accountants, auditors, consultants, and collection agencies;
- Credit-card networks, card issuers, and fraud-prevention providers;
- Toll authorities, parking authorities, governmental agencies, courts, and law enforcement;
- Persons or organizations involved in an accident, claim, dispute, chargeback, or legal proceeding; and
- A purchaser, successor, lender, or other party involved in a merger, financing, restructuring, or sale of all or part of our business.
Service providers may use information only as reasonably necessary to provide their services, comply with applicable law, or perform their contractual obligations.
Stride does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

- Complete and administer a reservation or rental;
- Process delayed charges, tolls, citations, damages, claims, refunds, or chargebacks;

- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the rental activity, legal obligations, and whether a dispute, claim, investigation, or collection matter remains open.
8. Information Security
Stride uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no website, internet transmission, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Customers should not send payment-card information, driver’s license images, passwords, or other sensitive information through unsecured communication channels.
9. Privacy Choices and Requests
Depending on the customer’s place of residence and applicable law, the customer may have the right to request:
- Confirmation of whether Stride processes the customer’s personal information;
- Access to certain personal information;
- Correction of inaccurate information;
- Deletion of certain information;
- A copy of certain information;
- Information regarding the categories of information collected or disclosed; and
- Other privacy rights provided under applicable law.
Privacy rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
Stride may retain information necessary to:
- Complete or administer a rental;
- Process authorized payments;
- Defend claims or chargebacks;
- Prevent fraud;
- Maintain legally required records;
- Enforce a Rental Agreement; or
- Comply with applicable law.
Stride may need to verify the identity of the person submitting a privacy request before completing the request.

10. Payment Information
Payment-card transactions may be processed through third-party payment processors. These processors may collect and process payment information under their own privacy and security policies.
Stride may use payment information to:
- Authorize security deposits and holds;
- Collect reservation and rental charges;
- Issue approved refunds; and
- Process authorized charges arising during or after the rental.
Post-rental charges may include tolls, fuel, electric-vehicle charging, damages, cleaning, smoking, citations, additional rental time, late returns, and other amounts permitted under the Rental Agreement.
11. Third-Party Websites and Booking Platforms
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, maps, social-media services, travel agencies, payment processors, reservation systems, or booking platforms.
Stride does not control and is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party websites or services.
Customers should review the privacy policies of any third-party website or service they use.
12. Children and Minors
Our website and online reservation services are not directed to children or minors.
Only individuals who are at least 21 years old and who meet Stride’s rental eligibility requirements may submit a vehicle reservation, provide payment information, or enter into a Rental Agreement.
Persons under 21 years of age may not make a reservation in their own name or act as the Renter or an Authorized Driver.
We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13 years of age.
If we learn that personal information has been collected directly from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information, subject to applicable legal obligations.
A parent or legal guardian who meets all rental eligibility requirements may make a reservation in their own name. The parent or legal guardian will be the responsible Renter, and a minor may not operate the Vehicle.
13. Business Transfers
If Stride or Sistemas R&P LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Stride may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
The current version will be posted on our website with a revised effective date.
Material changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law permits or requires otherwise.
